When you are addicted, small measures won’t help much. The key is to have very strong will power and desire to genuinely quit smoking. Some very effective ways for those gripped with addiction are as follows:
Set a date for quitting smoking altogether and stick to it. Cut down on the number of cigarettes that you take daily. Drink a glass of water or wait for a minute, if you feel like smoking. This would help kill the urge. Try not to keep cigarettes near you, the more you see, more is the urge. Smoke with your opposite hand. This would reduce intake. Hang quit smoking signs in every possible position like doors of refrigerator , your desktop at workplace etc.
